I just finished Man of Medan with no deaths, and it felt like a huge relief. The whole time I was making tense choices, trying not to get anyone killed. I focused on keeping everyone calm and sticking together. It's amazing how different the story can end when nobody dies. The characters all survived the ghost ship, but the paranoia and mistrust still left them changed. I actually got the ending where they all escape on the boat, looking back at the wreck.
